New York spot gold fell $11.80 to $1,739.30 on Monday. The TSX-V lost 4.73 points to 571.15 while the TSX gold index lost 0.12 point to 260.27. Lundin Gold Inc. (LUG) managed a gain early on but ended the day down 37 cents to $11.12 on 671,000 shares. Lundin's last news came two weeks ago, with word it earned $62.7-million (U.S.) in its third quarter. Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TXG), lost ground early but ended the day up eight cents to $10.99 on 366,000 shares. Torex has also been silent for two weeks following word it earned $44-million (U.S.) in its third quarter.
Sebastien de Montessus's Endeavour Mining PLC (EDV) rose 31 cents to $27.11 on 596,000 shares following word that "a major discovery has been made" at its Tanda-Iguela exploration project in Ivory Coast. This ranks as a "major greenfield discovery" -- just not today, mind you, as Endeavour now has a maiden resource estimate for the project, one that follows an "intensive drilling program" this year that came on the heels of "highly encouraging results obtained in 2021."
