New York spot gold fell $2.10 to $1,671.60 on Thursday. The TSX-V lost 10.58 points to 602.94 while the TSX gold index added 0.24 point to 231.49. New Gold Inc. (NGD) was stronger today, adding one cent to $1.17 on 2.9 million shares, while Endeavour Mining PLC (EDV) was a laggard, dropping 59 cents to $25.60 on 754,000 shares.
Michael Konnert's Vizsla Silver Corp. (VZLA) lost five cents to $1.52 on 611,000 shares on word that it has drilled a 2.09-metre true-width interval averaging 1.99 grams of gold and 413 grams of silver per tonne in the Cruz Negra vein, just 250 metres west of the Napoleon deposit on its Panuco project in Mexico. The assays are from 13 new holes that targeted the vein, and all but two returned precious metals. Another hole returned 16.42 grams of gold and 168 grams of silver per tonne over 0.65 metre while a third managed 2.6 grams of gold and 76 grams of silver per tonne over 2.85 metres.
