Bears continue to prowl the gold sector: New York spot gold, above $1,872 last week, dropped another $14.10 today to $1,790.40. The TSX Venture Exchange tagged along, dropping 6.87 points, ending the day at 959.49 while the TSX gold index lost 5.16 points to 289.52. Most Canadian gold miners moved lower today. Karora Resources Inc. (KRR) dropped 22 cents to $4.48 on 2.51 million shares and Victoria Gold Corp. (VGCX), which had a down day yesterday, fell another 54 cents to $16.33 on 493,000 shares today.

Liam Twigger and Darryl Cuzzubbo's Solgold PLC (SOLG) dropped two cents to 42 cents on 71,000 shares. The company said this morning that it is delaying the release of a prefeasibility study of its Cascabel project in northern Ecuador because of its appointment of a new chief executive officer and managing director, Darryl Cuzzubbo, who starts work on Dec. 1. Apparently, the new man wants to "enable confirmation of various assumptions impacting the prefeasibility study."
