New York spot gold rose $0.30 to $1,455.70 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange added 1.72 points to 536.32 while the TSX Gold Index added 2.74 points to 236.72. Most Canadian gold miners moved lethargically again today, although Franco-Nevada Corp. (FNV) managed a $2.98 gain, closing at $129.64 on 953,000 shares. The company said late Monday that it earned $101.6-million (U.S.) in its third quarter.
Craig Parry and Michael Konnert's Vizsla Resources Corp. (VZLA), up four cents to 46 cents on 331,000 shares, has received assays of up to 29.3 grams of gold and 1,900 grams of silver per tonne over 0.5 metre from channel sampling at the San Antonio portion of the Cordon del Oro vein on its Panuco project in Sinaloa, Mexico. A 0.9-metre sample from the Napoleon 4 prospect, along the Napoleon vein, did nearly as well, returning 14.55 grams of gold and 1,860 grams of silver per tonne. Several other channel samples at those sites and others also returned promotable grades.
