The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a mediocre 67-84-159 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell two points to 610. James Bruchs's Tsodilo Resources Ltd. (TSD) closed unchanged at 17 cents on 4,000 shares. The company's biggest news in months has been -- yawn -- its New Year's Eve grant of options to its crew. Tsodilo's previous news came six months earlier, when the company reported the election of three board members at its annual meeting, while its most recent placement occurred in May, when Tsodilo sold 945,000 shares at 30 cents apiece.

Nevertheless, there may have been a change of focus behind the scenes -- one that has become apparent only to those investors who doggedly read the tea leaves within a company's end-of-release boilerplate. Tsodilo, you see, entered 2024 with a rosy summary that described it as "engaged in the search for economic metal and diamond deposits at its Gcwihaba Resources Pty. Ltd. and Bosoto Pty. Ltd. projects in Botswana." It then droned on, describing its 100-per-cent interest in Gcwihaba as holding five metal licences, then noting that Bosoto holds the BK16 kimberlite project.
