The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a 90-90-130 draw as the TSX Venture Exchange added nine points to 582. Laura Lee Duffett and Ken Johnson's Tres-Or Resources Ltd. (TRS) rose one cent to nine cents on 22,000 shares when a board lot last traded late in June. (The stock's last trade at all came late last week. A Fidelity Investments client may have found himself $1.40 short while buying a drink, as he sold 20 shares at seven cents.)

While Tres-Or has been trading with the frequency of the lunar cycle of late, its market performance is frantic compared with the company's tortoise-like push on the exploration front. Ms. Duffett, Tres-Or's president and chief executive officer, still touts plans for a 10-tonne mini-bulk sample of the big Guigues kimberlite, just east of Lac Temiscamingue in northwestern Quebec. That ballyhooed recommendation calls for processing the 10 tonnes of kimberlite acquired by drilling nearly three years ago. The rock, which was to have been processed by dense media separation for macrodiamonds only, has been resting silently in some warehouse -- secured, of course, should anyone care.
