The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Tuesday was a so-so 94-97-119 as the TSX Venture Exchange regained 11 points to 652. Another day has passed without word of a budget or a work program at the FalCon diamond project in central Saskatchewan. The silence sent Ewan Mason and Ken MacNeill's Star Diamond Corp. (DIAM) up one-half hopeful cent higher to 26 cents 131,000 shares.

Terry Tucker and Samer Khalaf's Southstone Minerals Ltd. (SML) closed unchanged at 2.5 cents on 12,000 shares on Monday. The company has resumed mining at its Oena alluvial operation in northwestern South Africa with its new co-venturer, Oryx Mining Pty. Ltd. The resumed operation will run 23 hours per day and six days a week with a total head feed of 200 tonnes per hour being sent to a desanding screen feeding an 18-foot pan plant. The numbers multiply to a potential 120,000 tonnes per month, significantly more than Southstone had achieved with its previous contractor.
