The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Wednesday was a bleak 62-110-128 as the TSX Venture Exchange lost 11 points to 946 and polished diamond prices edged higher. Waldo Perez's Neo Lithium Corp. (NLC), a $6.50-per-share takeover target of Zijin Mining Group Ltd., closed unchanged at $6.26 on 3.23 million shares today. A share went for less than $1 a year ago.
Dr. Stuart Blusson's thin-trading Archon Minerals Ltd. (ACS: $0.20) continues to idle away at its Buffer project, north of Lac de Gras in the Northwest Territories. Also on hold are further royalty payments from Arctic Canada Diamond Corp. (ACDC), the private company that acquired the Ekati mine when COVID-19 nudged Dennis Washington's already teetering Dominion Diamond Mines over the brink and into bankruptcy a year ago. Archon collected modest sums from Dominion when it mined the Lynx pipe a few years ago, but until ACDC develops the large Jay pipe, Archon is unlikely to see much cash.
