The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Wednesday was a positive 104-76-120 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose nine points to 908 and polished diamond prices remained flat. Arno Brand's Gratomic Inc. (GRAT), one of the Howe Street ne'er-do-wells that began doing very well this year, dipped three cents to $1.39 on 1.13 million shares. Gratomic, expects to be producing graphite, or in its words, "aims to achieve full operational capabilities" at its Aukam project in Namibia this year. Gratomic, spent most of 2020 trading below a quarter, began a northward spurt late last year, getting to $1.84 in March and holding most of its gain since then.
Laura Lee Duffett's Tres-Or Resources Ltd. (TRS) closed unchanged at 10 cents on 22,000 shares. The dog days of summer are upon us and there is still no word of the new drill program at the company's Guigues kimberlite, just northeast of Lac Temiscamingue in Quebec. In May, Ms. Duffett, president and chief executive officer, said that her company would drill between two and five new holes into the kimberlite to "better define the pipe" that the company assesses at a "substantial 4.5 hectares to six hectares."
