The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Friday was an upbeat 118-73-109 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose 11 points to 954. Ken MacNeill's Star Diamond Corp. (DIAM) lost one-half cent to 24.5 cents on 350,000 shares as the wait goes on for news -- legal, financial or geological -- about its Fort a la Corne diamond project in Saskatchewan.
Dr. Stewart Blusson's Archon Minerals Ltd. (ACS: $0.22) has a chart that for years has looked like specks left behind by a constipated fly meandering southward. Lately, however, its stock has been showing a bit more oomph. Over the past six months, 756,000 shares have traded -- a modest sum to be sure -- but it is more than had traded in the previous four years. As usual, the company has not been keeping its new shareholders up to date: Archon has never had a website and its quarterly reports show the telltale signs of cobwebs: out-of-date summaries that long ago hardened to boilerplate.
