The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Wednesday was atrocious for the second time this week at 38-158-104, as the TSX Venture Exchange slid 30 points to 677 while polished diamond prices were flat. Victor Cantore's Vision Lithium Inc. (VLI) followed the trend, falling one-half cent to 2.5 cents on 626,000 shares.
Vision, "focused on exploring and developing high-quality battery mineral assets," has been quiet since June, when it acquired three base and precious metals prospects in New Brunswick. It has since seen spurts of interest, including a two-day run to five cents on nearly 25 million shares three weeks ago. The regulators queried the company about that move and Mr. Cantore, executive chairman, said there was no material news to account for the burst of trading. A better question might have been: "What's up with your stock?" Perhaps they should have asked the chat room posters; they were at least willing to guess it had to do with gold -- incorrectly, as it turned out.
