The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Wednesday was 86-99-115 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell five points to 749 and polished diamond prices edged higher. Ken MacNeill and George Read's Star Diamond Corp. (DIAM) continues to twist in the wind. Today it caught a rising current and made its way up three cents to 23 cents on 992,000 shares. There is nothing new, but the diamond counts from a third trench cutter hole at the Star pipe are expected shortly.
Jean-Raymond Boulle's Diamond Fields Resources Inc. (DFR) closed unchanged at 14.5 cents on 1,000 shares when it last traded on Monday. The company's marine diamond project, centred on the ML111 concession, remains in hiatus, and when -- or if --work will resume is unclear. The six-month non-continuous trial mining program was halted well over a year ago, ostensibly so that the company and its co-venturer, International Mining and Dredging Holding Ltd. (IMDH), could review the data.
