The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Wednesday was a rousing 114-60-126 as the TSX Venture Exchange jumped 15 points to 729. Star Diamond Corp. (DIAM fell one-half cent to 20.5 cents on 671,000 shares today. Star, no star lately, was a 20-cent stock through most of the 2010s, but it levitated to the 46-cent mark last winter, after Rio Tinto said it had exercised its options to enter a 60:40 joint venture with Star. Word that Star lost its request for an injunction has now returned Star's stock to its long-lived, but not-so-much-loved perch.
Kyle Floyd's Vox Royalty Corp. (VOX), unchanged at $3.10 on 23,000 shares, is acquiring a royalty on the Brauna diamond mine in Brazil from Ken Johnson's Lipari Mineracao Ltd. Mr. Johnson, when last heard from in Canada, was the chief executive officer of Vaaldiam Resources Ltd. -- a company saved from bankruptcy a decade ago through a merger with Robert Jackson's Tiomin Resources Ltd., only to have Tiomin disappear a few years later through a takeover by BCKP Ltd.
