MAPLE LEAF GREEN WORLD INC. -- UPDATE FOR HEMP SEED CULTIVATION INITIATIVE AND TELKWA, B.C. FACILITY FINANCING

Maple Leaf Green World Inc. has provided a corporate update.

California -- hemp seed cultivation

The company is preparing the two greenhouses at its Riverside, Calif., facility to start cultivating hemp for cannabidiol-enriched seed production as a starting point for the company's hemp cultivation initiative announced in its Aug. 29, 2019, press release. The two greenhouses are in good operational condition and can start the hemp seed cultivation program immediately with some minor adjustments. The two greenhouses provide about 6,000 square feet of indoor space to produce about 350 pounds of cannabidiol-enriched seeds every two months. The company has also planned to install two to four more greenhouses once the cultivation in these two greenhouses is under way and to utilize the remaining open space of the 20 acres of land to grow hemp outdoor, starting in the summertime of 2020.

The hemp seeds produced will either be sold to Lin International, as announced in the Sept. 17, 2019, press release, or to any customers across the United States. The current average selling price for cannabidiol-enriched hemp seeds in the United States is about $3,500 (U.S.) per pound.

Telkwa, B.C., facility -- financing

The company has retained Helixx Enterprises Ltd. exclusively to secure a debt financing for completing its Telkwa facility and acquisition of Woodmere Nursery Ltd. The amount of financing is up to a maximum 70-per-cent cost or 65 per cent of total appraised value, whichever is lower, estimated at $11.2-million. Helixx already has a couple of lenders interested in doing the deal.
