The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Tuesday was a cheerful 106-70-124 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose 10 points to 695 while polished diamond prices inched upward. David Kelsch's GGL Resources Corp. (GGL) rose one cent to 13 cents on 18,000 shares. The company said last week that it is offering regular shares at nine cents and flow-through shares at 11 cents, seeking $300,000 for exploration and working capital.
Glenn Kasner's RJK Explorations Ltd. (RJX.A) closed unchanged at 18.5 cents on 234,000 shares on word that it has recovered microdiamonds from its Kon-1 kimberlite in Northeastern Ontario. The 277 kilograms of core recovered from drilling at Kon-1 produced seven microdiamonds, says Mr. Kasner, president and chief executive officer. It was a modest haul, but it confirms Kon-1 to be the second diamondiferous kimberlite on RJK's properties, and, as microdiamonds have been a poor indicator of economic viability with Ontario kimberlites, more drilling is planned on the target.
