The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Wednesday was a bright 101-69-130 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose four points to 667. Two lithium explorers continued to trade busily. Alpha Lithium Corp. (ALLI) rose six cents to $1 on 2.16 million shares following word that it sold 10 million shares at 37 cents. Alpha was a 50-cent stock just a month ago and it was as high as $1.49 a few days ago. American Lithium Corp. (LI), also a 50-cent stock in mid-June, leapt 44 cents to $2 on 7.16 million shares today. (On Monday, it had been as high as $2.99 and as low as $1.52.)

Dermot Desmond and Stuart Brown's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPVD), up one-half cent to 28 cents on 221,000 shares, has rejigged its debt structure again, amid the continuing crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company owns a 49-per-cent interest in the Gahcho Kue mine in the Northwest Territories and its majority co-venturer, De Beers Canada has kept the mine running, despite the difficulty of selling rough even at deep discounts.
