New York spot gold rose $1.20 Wednesday, ending the day at $1,853.30. The TSX-V rose 1.42 points to 724.19 while the TSX gold dipped 2.13 points to 294.87. Most Canadian gold miners moved little again today, although Ero Copper Corp. (ERO) did drop $1.08 to $14.64 on 631,000 shares. Victoria Gold Corp. (VGCX) went the other way, adding 12 cents to $14.67 on 195,000 shares.
Collin Kettell's New Found Gold Corp. (NFG) fell 21 cents to $7.08 on 202,000 shares on word of another new gold find at its Queensway project in north-central Newfoundland. The company has drilled a two-metre interval averaging 89.5 grams of gold per tonne in what it is calling the Tuesday zone, between the Lotto Main vein and the Appleton Fault zone (AFZ). Most of the gold came from a 0.4-metre stretch that averaged 442 grams per tonne, leaving the remaining 1.6 metres with a ho-hum 1.38 grams per tonne.
