The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a mediocre 91-90-129 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell three points to 585. Quebec lithium explorer, ALX Resources Corp. (ALX) rose one-half cent to 3.5 cents on 1.82 million shares on word it is back to work on its Hydra project in the James Bay district.
Laura Lee Duffett and Ken Johnson's Tres-Or Resources Ltd. (TRS) was unchanged at 9.5 cents on 1,000 shares. The company wrapped up its annual general meeting recently and while nothing dramatic unfolded, the election of Mr. Johnson to the company's board is the first clear sign in months that Tres-Or's acquisition of diamond assets in Brazil proceeded as planned.
In mid-April, Ms. Duffett, Tres-Or's founder and long-time president and chief executive officer, touted word that her company was acquiring a 100-per-cent interest in Vaaldiam Mining (Brazil) Ltd., a private company holding several Brazilian diamond prospects owned by Mr. Johnson. In mid-June, Mr. Johnson reported that he had received the 2.27 million shares with a deemed value of five cents apiece that was to be payment for Vaaldiam. He also reported the receipt of two million Tres-Or shares that he purchased from Tres-Or in mid-May at five cents apiece.
