The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Thursday was a positive 102-83-125 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose four points to 659 while polished diamond prices fell 0.1 per cent. Peter Swistak's Vertical Exploration Inc. (VERT), down 1.5 cents to nine cents on 4.4 million shares Wednesday, dropped another one-half cent to 8.5 cents on 1.66 million shares today. The wollastonite explorer has had no major news since early June.
Dr. Leon Daniels and Graham Warren's Pangolin Diamonds Corp. (PAN) lost one-half cent to one-half cent on 33,000 shares. The company stock, a five-center in the years before COVID, had been gyrating between one and 1.5 cents this year. Therefore, when the company said it was acquiring a private company holding "assets relating to the BK11 mine" for a nominal amount, a few investors were initially shocked that moribund Pangolin was acquiring a former diamond mine in Botswana.
