FP/wire say ex Canopy investor Drake bets on Bullrider

2021-10-18 09:05 ET - In the News

The Financial Post reports in its Saturday, Oct. 16, edition that Drake is entering the Canadian cannabis industry, again. A Postmedia News dispatch to the Post reports that the Grammy-winning rapper has invested in Bullrider, a subsidiary of Robes Inc., a privately held cannabis company that also owns Robes Cannabis. Focused on high-end, premium products, Bullrider is co-owned by Drake's long-time producer Noah "40" Shebib. Mr. Drake joins the company as an investor, adviser and partner. Shebib, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005 at the age of 22, became involved with the company after finding success managing his symptoms with the brand's namesake strain, Afghani Bullrider. Previously, Drake had partnered with Canopy Growth on a joint venture, the More Life Growth Company, but that ended earlier this year. Drake held 60-per-cent ownership in the brand. Drake says, "I'm very excited to invest, partner and contribute to setting a new standard for a premium cannabis experience." Mr. Shebib says, "My involvement with Bullrider stems from the urge to help consumers access high-grade strains with the same recreational therapeutic benefits that I've been able to enjoy."
