The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, July 30, edition that in a study previewing earnings season for Canadian diversified financial companies, National Bank Financial analyst Jaeme Gloyn reaffirmed his "Favourable outlook" for property and casualty insurance providers, expecting fundamentals to "remain solid" into the second half of 2025. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Gloyn says in a note: "While we have seen multiples rerate to the high end of their historic range, we see upside from continued underwriting strength and book value growth. While we've observed some softening in select areas of the market, overall conditions remain broadly attractive and are expected to stay firm through 2025. Additionally, moderating claims inflation and disciplined risk selection continue to support a constructive outlook for profitability. We maintain a favourable view on the near-term profitability setup, with the potential for M&A to enhance the outlook." Mr. Gloyn continues to rate Intact Financial "outperform." He hiked his share target to $350 from $341. Analysts on average target the shares at $328.23. The Globe reported on June 19 that RBC rated Intact "sector perform" in new coverage. It was then worth $305.99.
