The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Feb. 26, edition that TD Cowen analyst Mario Mendonca has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for iA Financial. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Mendonca tweaked his share target ahead to $147 from $146. Analysts on average target the shares at $144.63. Mr. Mendonca says in a note: "iA Financial delivered a strong investor day in Toronto on Monday. Our lifeco target prices are based on forward BV and P/B [book value and price-to-book] based on our ROE [return of equity] outlook. In this context, we have characterized the recent ROE guidance as an ROE arms-race. We view ROE guidance from Manulife Financial/Sun Life Financial as very ambitious. We are more confident in iA Financial achieving its guidance than its larger peers. We raised our target price for iA Financial as a result." The Globe reported on Nov. 7 that Mr. Mendonca continued to rate iA Financial "buy." The shares could then be had for $133.65. The Globe reported on Feb. 23, 2024, Oct. 11, 2024, and Feb. 21, 2025, that Desjardins Securities analyst Doug Young continued to rate iA Financial "hold." The shares could then be had for $85.46, $117.37 and $127.12.
