Lawrence Isen, a banned broker from New York who received five years in jail for a boiler room scheme, has filed an appeal. Federal prosecutors claimed that Mr. Isen was part of a group that boosted four stocks, including Canadian Securities Exchange listing Intelligent Content Enterprises Inc., through a cold-calling operation that ran over a four-year period. The group defrauded seniors and others of $15-million, according to the government. (All figures are in U.S. dollars.)
Mr. Isen's appeal is contained in a brief notice filed on Jan. 18, 2023, in federal court in New York. The notice contains no details (beyond some dates and file numbers), but Mr. Isen, 69, previously complained that his health problems made a lengthy jail term untenable. He claimed to suffer from nerve damage, urinary problems, sleep apnea, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He also had endured eight back surgeries and had little function in his legs. He further said that he suffered from kidney disease.

"but Mr. Isen, 69, previously complained that his health problems made a lengthy jail term untenable."
His victims will likely think that every day of the five-year jail term should be filled with excruciating pain.

I totally agree with you Halcrow. With all his ailments, sounds like he could use some exercise. Maybe his close friends in jail can help with that.
