The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Jan. 11, edition that Acumen Capital analyst Brian Pow rates People ($7.28) "buy." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Pow says Acumen has named People one of its "2019 Top Ideas." Mr. Pow believes recent market volatility has created an opportunity for investors. Mr. Pow says, "For this year's picks, we are choosing to be more defensive and leaning toward names with proven businesses that have historically shown solid execution against a well-articulated business plan." Mr. Pow adds in a note: "People is once again a top pick based on a reasonable fundamental outlook and quality management team that continues to show solid execution. People had good success in 2018 increasing its market share through acquisitions and organic growth and carries strong momentum into 2019. We believe that the company will have another active year of acquisitions, providing numerous catalysts for the shares." Mr. Pow targets the shares at $8.75. Analysts on average target the shares at $9.46. The Globe reported on Aug. 25, 2018, that Laurentian Bank Securities resumed coverage of People with a "buy" rating and $9.75 target. The shares were then worth $8.10.
