New York spot gold rose $2.00 to $1,397.10 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange dipped 2.55 points to 585.48 while the TSX Gold Index rose 2.93 points to 222.45. Most Canadian gold miners edged higher with bullion today. Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TXG) led the way, adding 41 cents to $13.62 on 604,000 shares. Eldorado Gold Corp. (ELD) also did well, adding 46 cents to $8.60 on 2.42 million shares.

The hits keep coming at Fenelon, but it is taking more these days to impress the market. Alar Soever and Marz Kord's Wallbridge Mining Co. Ltd. (WM) closed unchanged at 41.5 cents on 2.74 million shares on word that its latest assays from deep drilling at Fenelon produced up to 17.58 grams of gold per tonne over 11.04 metres. That glittering hit came in the Main Gabbro zone, in what the company's vice-president of exploration, Attila Pentek, called "the deepest high-grade gold hit so far" on the property, one that extends the known mineralization to nearly 600 metres below surface.
