New York spot gold gained $4.10 to $1,288.30 on Monday. The TSX Venture Exchange added 3.19 points to 590.63 but the TSX Gold Index fell 3.74 points to 179.61. Sean Roosen's Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd. (OR) dropped 37 cents to $11.86 on 831,000 shares. The company has bought back nearly 850,000 shares at an average of $11.56 per share through a normal course issuer bid. The $9.8-million purchase is a sliver of its plan to buy up to $100-million of its stock.
Jose Vizquerra and John Burzynski's Osisko Mining Inc. (OSK), down 17 cents to $2.91 on 831,000 shares, has received assays of up to 2,223 grams of gold per tonne over two metres at its Windfall Lake gold project in the James Bay district of Quebec. Most of the gold occurred in a 0.8-metre interval that averaged 5,550 grams per tonne. There were several other good hits in the latest 24 holes of the company's infill drill program, including 69.9 grams per tonne over 2.7 metres and 64.2 grams per tonne over 2.1 metres. All three intercepts included subintervals with bonanza grades topping 250 grams per tonne.
