The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Thursday was a pleasant 89-63-152. The TSX Venture Exchange fell one point to 596 while polished diamond prices lost 0.1 per cent. Arno Brand and Sheldon Inwentash's Gratomic Inc. (GRAT) gained one cent to 15 cents on 2.57 million shares. The company, which touts graphite plays in Namibia and Quebec, has been silent for the past month but remains a busy trader.
Gary Thompson's Brixton Metals Corp. (BBB), unchanged at 14 cents on 199,000 shares, has continued to drill kimberlite at its Langis cobalt project, near Cobalt in Northeastern Ontario. The company has now hit kimberlite in 22 of the 24 holes it has drilled so far, expanding the area of kimberlite intersections to 50 hectares. In late November, after the company had hit kimberlite in 10 of its first 11 holes, it had estimated the kimberlitic footprint at about 20 hectares. Given a typical oval shape, the area translates to a zone about one kilometre long and 650 metres wide.
