The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Friday was a mediocre 75-67-135. The TSX Venture Exchange lost one point to 740 while polished diamond prices inched higher. Enertopia Corp. (TOP) lost one-half cent to four cents on 2.02 million shares. The company said earlier this week that tests of lithium carbonate produced from lithium brine fell short of battery-grade standards, so the company decided to drop its venture with Genesis Water Technologies Inc. and go it alone. Saint Jean Carbon Inc. (SJL) lost one-half cent to 4.5 cents on 230,000 shares. The company plans to advance the Lochaber graphite project in Quebec.
Patrick Power and Scott Eldridge's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD), up one cent to 14 cents on 664,000 shares, has a new batch of microdiamonds from its White Wolf kimberlite, at Timantti in east-central Finland. The latest gems are from kimberlite core recovered this spring in delineation drilling on the project. A total of 758 stones were recovered from 262.3 kilograms of material, a haul that included 10 gems larger than a 0.85-millimetre sieve, three of which sat on a 1.18-millimetre mesh.
