The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a mediocre 64-79-141. The TSX Venture Exchange lost nine points to 781 while polished diamond prices were flat. Guy Bourassa's Nemaska Lithium Inc. (NMX) dropped seven cents to $1.21 on 4.04 million shares. The company is working to finance its big Whabouchi lithium mine in Quebec.
Patrick Power and Scott Eldridge's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD), up one-half cent to 15.5 cents on 69,000 shares, has doubled the size of its Timantti diamond project, near the Russian border in east-central Finland. The company has added another 98,000 hectares to an initial land package of 95,700 hectares, giving it 193,700 hectares of ground. The new ground extends the project to the south, an area where previous exploration turned up at least one kimberlite. (The price was nevertheless a bargain, as Arctic Star paid just $3,750 to the government and covered some modest legal bills.)
