WCLC PUTS AN EXCITING NEW SPIN ON ITS LINEUP OF SCRATCH TICKETS

Pollard Banknote Ltd. is congratulating the Western Canada Lottery Corp. (WCLC) on the tremendous success of its Zing scratch ticket, The Big $pin, launched on March 4, 2019.

The Big $pin -- printed by Pollard Banknote and based on the innovative and incredibly successful game created by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. -- is breaking WCLC records. Based on five-week average sales, The Big $pin is the lottery's bestselling game across all price points since 2013. When compared within its own price point, The Big $pin is selling 400 per cent above the average of other $5 games launched by WCLC in the last 10 years, making it the lottery's bestselling $5 game ever.

The Big $pin is unlike any other scratch ticket, expanding the familiar scratch-and-win process to scratch, watch, spin and win. When scratching a ticket, players have a chance to win an instant cash prize or a Spin Win. A player that uncovers a Spin Win then visits a lottery retail location to watch an animated wheel on the lottery terminal screen, which stops on a guaranteed prize between $10 and $10,000 or a Big Spin.

Players that land on a Big Spin automatically win $10,000 and the opportunity to attend a Big $pin event. At the event, the player spins a wheel for a guaranteed prize of $100,000 to $500,000. There have been three big winners already.

The Big $pin is designed to capture the emotional moment when a player's anticipation (of an unknown prize amount) transitions to excitement (when discovering the amount) -- at retail and at Big $pin events. WCLC is sharing the Big $pin events on its website to let everyone join in on the excitement.

WCLC is increasing awareness of this revolutionary new game with an advertising campaign that includes in-store ads, television commercials, website banner ads and social media advertising.
