Mr. J. Craig Goodwin reports
NATURALLY SPLENDID'S PET CARE LINE EXCEEDS INTERNAL EXPECTATIONS AND ADDS 55 ACCOUNTS IN 60 DAYS
Naturally Splendid Enterprises Ltd.'s 100-per-cent-owned pet care line, PawsitiveFX, is now carried in over 80 retail stores in Western Canada thanks to an aggressive push from the distributor Anipet Animal Supplies. Anipet's team has opened 55 new stores since Sept. 1, including a range of large chain stores such as Mr. Pets, Bosleys by Pet Valu, Pet food n' More, Petland and Global Pet. Founded in 1976, Anipet's reach extends across Canada throughout the Pet Specialty Channel, reaching over 1,000 retailers that include Global Pet Foods, Mr. Pets, Petland, Pet Food N' More, Tisol and Total Pet. Anipet is the premium distributor of choice in Western Canada for some of the industry's best-selling brands such as Merrick Pet Care, Natural Balance, Greenies, Petcurean and Petmate and WellPet.
PawsitiveFX brand manager Andy Birchall reports: "We are extremely pleased with the results Anipet is producing, most notably over the last 60 days. The brand is gathering momentum as evidenced with the addition of 55 new accounts in just two months."
Naturally Splendid chief executive officer Craig Goodwin comments: "The pet industry in North America is massive and still growing. The Canadian market reached sales of $6.6-billion in pet related items in 2012 and is expected to grow to $8.3-billion by 2018. And according to the American Pet Products Association, annual sales in the American pet market exceeds $61-billion annually with the majority of those sales targeted to nutrition and pet care (1). We believe the PawsitiveFX product line to be an excellent entry level point into this market."
In addition, the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) will also be selling PawsitiveFX products in select branches, starting with its new retail location in the main Vancouver shelter. Naturally Splendid's intention is to have other BC SPCA branches follow suit, as well as SPCAs and humane societies elsewhere in Canada. BC SPCA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm, and wild animals in British Columbia. The BC SPCA provides emergency medical care, protection and shelter for more than 34,000 animals each year through various branches and adoption centres throughout B.C.
PawsitiveFX brand manager Mr. Birchall summarizes: "Interest and confidence in the PawsitiveFX line has been growing as a result of marketing efforts by the Naturally Splendid team, Anipet and consumer testimonials. Recent trade shows such as the PIJAC National Pet Industry show in Mississauga, Ont., and the West Coast Women's Show in Abbotsford, B.C., generated significant exposure and better-than-expected direct sales with the retail and wholesale customers who attended."
