CORVUS GOLD GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY IDENTIFIES NEW INTRUSIVE/SEDIMENT HOSTED TARGET BELOW MAIN MOTHER LODE DEPOSIT, NEVADA
Corvus Gold Inc. has received preliminary geophysical data from a deep-penetrating induced polarization survey over the Mother Lode deposit. Geophysical results have outlined both the main Mother Lode deposit as well as a new and strong anomaly approximately 150 metres below the main deposit. In addition, drilling has begun again at the Mother Lode project where a series of follow-up mineral resource expansion and stepout holes are under way along with precollar holes for the initial deep-drill testing of the North Deep target and the new Deep Core target identified by the IP survey.
At the Deep Core target, the coincident strong conductor and highly resistive zone identified by geophysics is believed by Corvus to be analogous to an intrusive driven or unique stratigraphic controlled alteration/mineralization system and could be the source and driver of the extensive shallower deposit above. Supplementing these geophysical results is the high-grade intercept reported March 19, 2019 (ML19-104, 126.5 metres at 1.85 grams per tonne gold including 10.7 m at 6.28 g/t gold and 70.3 g/t silver) with the highest grades at the bottom of the hole where the hole was lost. These results returned a strong intrusive signature that could be related to a deeper, hotter, higher-grade gold system.
Jeffrey Pontius, president and chief executive officer of Corvus, said: "The new deep-penetrating geophysical data has outlined an attractive intrusive or sediment-hosted target below the large Mother Lode deposit. Corvus believes the potential of this target could spur a new era of exploration for the district as well as impact future development and valuations. Corvus's expanded drill program at both North Bullfrog and Mother Lode is effectively and expeditiously advancing the company's potential and unlocking the major district controls on these large and growing gold systems."
