Mr. Richard Kantor reports
CHAMPION BEAR ANNOUNCES DRILLING RESULTS FROM EAGLE ROCK COPPER-PGE PROJECT
Champion Bear Resources Ltd. has released results from the Q1 2019 Eagle Rock drilling program on its 100-per-cent-owned project, located 60 kilometres south of Dryden in Northwestern Ontario.
Highlights:
-
Drill hole ER19-24 intersected 7.5 metres of 0.548 gram per tonne palladium, 0.323 gram per tonne platinum, 0.250 gram per tonne gold and 0.40 per cent copper from 101.0 metres to 108.5 metres.
-
Drill hole ER19-25 intersected 10.0 metres of 0.645 gram per tonne palladium, 0.398 gram per tonne platinum, 0.325 gram per tonne gold and 0.45 per cent copper from 75.0 metres to 85.0 metres, including three two-metre-long intervals with over 0.9 gram per tonne palladium.
-
Drill hole ER19-28 intersected 34.0 metres of 0.465 gram per tonne palladium, 0.281 gram per tonne platinum, 0.201 gram per tonne gold and 0.3 per cent copper from 97.0 metres to 131.0 metres, including four two-metre-long intervals with over 0.7 gram per tonne palladium.
-
Drill hole ER19-29 intersected 56.0 metres of 0.488 gram per tonne palladium, 0.272 gram per tonne platinum, 0.188 gram per tonne gold and 0.42 per cent copper from 46.0 metres to 102.0 metres, including six two-metre-long intervals with over 0.7 gram per tonne palladium.
-
Drill hole ER19-30 intersected eight metres of 0.511 gram per tonne palladium, 0.306 gram per tonne platinum, 236 grams per tonne gold and 0.42 per cent copper from 91.0 metres to 99.0 metres, including one two-metre-long interval with over 0.8 gram per tonne palladium.
-
Nine new drill holes, of which seven new drill holes had intersections equal to or greater than 0.3 gram per tonne palladium.
-
Total new drilling amounted to 1,442 metres, averaging 160 metres per drill hole.
-
The palladium-to-platinum ratio for most of the intervals ranges from 1.6:1 to 1.9:1.
The results for the nine NQ diamond drill holes in the Campbell zone on the Eagle Rock project are summarized in the attached table. The drilling program was designed to: (i) collect data predominantly within the top 150 metres of the surface in order to fill historical data gap near surface; and (ii) complement existing data from 99 drill holes that range as deep as 426 metres in order to better understand the mineralization distribution. The nine holes completed in 2019 are located between existing drill sections of the Campbell zone and, as such, do not constitute a material change on the project.

Sampling consisted of sawing the core in equal halves along the main axis and shipping one of the halves to the Activation Laboratories preparation facility in Dryden, Ont. The samples are crushed and pulverized before being sent to the Activation Laboratories analytical facility in Thunder Bay, Ont., for analysis for gold by fire assay with ICP finish on 50-gram aliquot. All remaining elements were analyzed with an aqua regia digestion and multielement ICP. Champion Bear uses a comprehensive quality assurance/quality control protocol, including the insertion of blanks, standards and pulp duplicates.
Richard Kantor, president of Champion Bear, said the company was encouraged by these positive results in delineating the mineralization in the Campbell zone and would be moving forward with further exploration plans to enhance the understanding of the metal distribution on its Eagle Rock properties.
