New York spot gold lost $12.40 to $1,486.80 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange dipped 1.15 points to 582.56 while the TSX Gold Index lost 2.44 points to 238.91. Most Canadian gold miners drifted lower today but Endeavour Mining Corp. (EDV) bucked the trend. It rose 71 cents to $25.35 on 620,000 shares. Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) went the other way, losing $1.36 to $74.58 on 1.64 million shares.
Jonathan Awde's Gold Standard Ventures Corp. (GSV) slid 9.5 cents to $1.225 on 3.10 million shares following receipt of (apparently not so) "positive results" from a prefeasibility study of the South Railroad portion of the company's Railroad-Pinion gold project in Nevada. The study is based on a reserve of 29.5 million tonnes averaging 0.93 gram of gold per tonne in the Dark Star deposit and 17.9 million tonnes averaging 0.83 gram of gold and 4.69 grams of silver per tonne in Pinion, which contain a total of 1.25 million ounces of gold and 2.7 million ounces of silver.
