The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Thursday was a positive 73-66-161 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell one point to 602 and polished diamond prices were flat. Stornoway Diamond Corp. (SWY) 1.5 cents last week, has been recovering slowly this week -- its stock, not necessarily the performance of its Renard mine. Today, it closed unchanged at 3.5 cents on 12 million shares. While Stornoway's long-term backers lost nearly 99 per cent of their investment over the past three years, those who held since 2004 lost nearly 99.9 per cent of their investment at one point last week.
Glenn Kasner's RJK Explorations Ltd. (RJX.A), unchanged at nine cents on 50,000 shares, drilled two potential kimberlite targets at its Bishop Nipissing diamond project in Northeastern Ontario in mid-March, then fell silent. The company has now quietly disclosed some details about the work, sending a cryptic message about the outcome. Either way, it appears that RJK intends to keep up its diamond hunt this year, although there are no hard plans for drilling yet.
