The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Tuesday was a weak 65-91-144 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell fractionally to 611 and polished diamond prices edged lower. Guy Bourassa's Nemaska Lithium Inc. (NMX), $2.44 barely a year ago but just 25 cents last week after the company said it is facing a big cost overrun building its Whabouchi lithium mine in Quebec, recovered another five cents to 33.5 cents on 10.45 million shares today. The rally is the result of an independent audit that supports the company's new budget.
There are days that the real news is hidden in plain view deep within a company's press release, or in the boilerplate at its end. Chuck Fipke and Chris Taylor's Dunnedin Ventures Inc. (DVI), unchanged at eight cents on 629,000 shares, did both this week while it reported the sale of 11.46 million regular shares at 7.5 cents and 5.53 million flow-through shares at 11.25 cents, raising $1.48-million to aid its "kicking off a busy exploration season on several fronts."
