The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Thursday was a weak 60-100-140 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell one point to 625 and polished diamond prices fell 0.2 per cent. Dermot Desmond and Stuart Brown's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPVD) lurched to yet another nine-year low of $1.14, closing the day down three cents to $1.15 on 145,000 shares. Trent Mell's First Cobalt Corp. (FCC) dropped one-half cent to 21 cents on 8.45 million shares. The company wants to restart a cobalt refinery in Northeastern Ontario.
James Rogers and Von Torres's Navis Resources Corp. (SUV: $0.30), halted since November, continues to send mixed messages about its Fort a la Corne diamond project in central Saskatchewan. The company wrote off the project five years ago after a long period of inaction, but it keeps popping up in the company's sporadic promotion. Navis spent over $110,000 on a survey report covering the area in 2017, but it then reminded investors that management had "no further plans for this property."
