MAJOR DRILLING DIVIDEND RECORD DATE

Major Drilling Group International Inc. is declaring a semi-annual dividend on Sept. 8, 2008. The first dividend of 20 cents per common share will be paid on Oct. 31, 2008, to shareholders of record as of Oct. 10, 2008, and is designated as an "eligible dividend" for Canadian tax purposes.
