SHERRITT ANNOUNCES QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

Sherritt International Corp.'s board of directors has approved a quarterly dividend of 3.6 cents per share, payable on Jan. 14, 2010, to shareholders of record as of Dec. 31, 2009. This regular dividend is an eligible dividend as defined in the Income Tax Act (Canada).
