Dios Exploration Inc. has completed the track sampling of the significant Godzila uranium discovery showing. Out of eight basement outcrop samples taken in the area, six had returned grades over 0.33 per cent U3O8 along a strike length of 25 metres -- that is, 2.56 per cent, 1.55 per cent, 0.722 per cent, 0.335 per cent, 0.502 per cent, 0.33 per cent and also 0.13 per cent uranium oxide. Both extents of this showing remain open as they are covered by overburden.
The Godzila uranium showing appears as a corridor three to four metres wide and at least 25 metres long, within hematitized granite. It consists of a fracture (millimetres to centimetres) system dominated by three main strikes and filled by quartz-magnetite-hematite and uraninite (uranium oxides) with small spots of uranophane. The thorium content is almost nil. Please see a photo of representative mineralized rock in a track sample with red hematite-filled fractures and oxides in black -- probably magnetite and uraninite -- on the company's website. A thin section study is being commissioned. About 200 metres farther north, two additional grab samples returned 33,000 to 42,300 cps. Further work is still needed to explain the source of the uranium radioactivity in that area.
