IIJ Expands High-speed Data Communications Terminals for IIJ Mobile

TOKYO, Nov. 24, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ) (Nasdaq:IIJI) (TSE1:3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the December 1 release of two additional USB data communications terminals to the line up for the IIJ Mobile Service: 120FU, which boasts a 5.7 Mbps high-speed uplink, and D31HW, with a 21 Mbps high-speed downlink.

The 120FU is compatible with the IIJ Mobile Service/Type D and Type DS. It uses the HSUPA protocol to provide a maximum 5.7 Mbps high-speed uplink (maximum 7.2 Mbps downlink) using the NTT DOCOMO FOMA high-speed network. The D31HW can be used with the IIJ Mobile Service/Type E and Type ES(*1) and the service for individuals, IIJmio High-speed Mobile/EM Service. It uses the HSPA+ protocol to provide a high-speed communications service using EMOBILE 3G network, with a maximum 21.6 Mbps downlink and a 5.8 Mbps uplink in major cities nationwide. (*2)
