Triumph Group, Inc. (NYSE: TGI) today announced that its
Seattle-based engineering group has been awarded a series of contracts
by Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. to develop systems and critical components
for the CH-53K helicopter that Sikorsky is developing for the U.S.
Marine Corps. The CH-53K is being designed to provide the U.S. Marines
with enhanced heavy-lift capability. The scope of the agreements
includes the development of the Blade Fold System, the Blade Damper and
the Rotor Brake Module. The development contract is expected to be
completed in 2012 and will initially involve several Triumph Group
companies. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies
Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Richard C. Ill, Triumph’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said,
