Regis Corporation (NYSE:RGS), the global leader in the $170 billion hair
care industry, today reported consolidated revenues decreased 1.8
percent in the first fiscal quarter of 2010 to $603 million, compared to
$614 million a year ago. First quarter total same-store sales decreased
4.5 percent.
“Our first quarter revenue and same-store sales results were slightly
above our plan,” commented Paul D. Finkelstein, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer. “As we previously discussed, we have always felt the
first quarter should be the most challenging quarter of the fiscal year.
We continue to expect that customer visitation patterns will stabilize
and, as a result, we should see improvement in our same-store sales
beginning in the later half of our second quarter.”
