Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI), (NASDAQ: UEIC) announced the
appointment of Carl Vogel, 52, to the Board of Directors of UEI. The
addition of Vogel brings the company’s total board count to seven. Vogel
is a Class II director and will be up for election at the company’s
Annual Shareholders Meeting expected to take in place in June of 2010.

the chairman and CEO. He was formerly the president, CEO and director of
Charter Communications. Vogel has over 25 years experience as an
executive in media and telecom. Vogel’s experience ranges from
structuring complex financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions,

markets to content creation, program network negotiations and cable and
