Customers in Madrid and Barcelona first to experience new 21Mbps mobile broadband network

VANCOUVER, Nov. 23 /CNW/ - Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) today announced the Sierra Wireless AirCard(R) USB 307 modem is now available in Spain for the new HSPA+ mobile broadband network operated by Telefónica. Initially offered in Madrid and Barcelona, Telefónica has announced plans to expand HSPA+ support to cover about 78 percent of the population by the end of 2010.

The AirCard USB 307 modem features download speeds of up to 21 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 5.76 Mbps on the 900 and 2100 MHz HSPA bands commonly used in Europe. It can also roam globally on UMTS and GSM/EDGE networks, making it an excellent choice for mobile professionals or digital nomads looking to take advantage of the best possible network speeds in a variety of locations as they travel worldwide.
