The Investment Reporter, in its May 3, 2013, issue, says hold Big Rock Brewery Inc., recently $15.06. The Reporter said buy only once -- on May 27, 2011, at $15.73. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for the single buy, the $1,000 position would now be worth $948. The Reporter thinks the stock is expensive. Big Rock's price-to-earnings ratio is "hefty" at 19, and its price-to-cash-flow ratio is not particularly cheap at 10.2. The stock also trades far above the book value of $1.99 a share. One risk is that the company may have to cut it its dividend if it encounters a setback. Big Rock's expected earnings of 80 cents a share in 2013 are just enough to cover its dividend. Still, the company expects earnings to rise by a third this year. In addition, it holds $4.3-million in cash, which greatly exceeds its debt of $2-million.
