The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, May 8, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Jerome Dubreuil has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for BCE. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Dubreuil tweaked his share target down by 50 cents to $41. Analysts on average target the shares at $38.67. Mr. Dubreuil says in a note: "Data centres are emerging as a key upside lever for BCE, which we believe the Street is currently overlooking. Meanwhile, the telecom news flow has been negative in Q1, but the impact on earnings has been manageable. We believe stability in capital allocation and the two needle-moving EBITDA growth drivers (AI-powered solutions and Ziply, despite a slower start than expected) will drive greater investor interest over time. BCE remains our top pick in the sector." The Globe reported on Feb. 6 and April 8 that Mr. Dubreuil had reiterated his "buy" recommendation when the shares were trading at $34.25 and $33.39.
