A legal battle involving a remote B.C. resort, an offshore backer and an OTC Bulletin Board company has landed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Alpha Capital Anstalt of Liechtenstein has filed a lawsuit against B.C. resident Andrew McKinnon. The suit claims that Mr. McKinnon made off with $370,000 of Alpha Capital's money. (All figures are in U.S. dollars.)
The allegations are contained in a notice of claim that Alpha Capital filed at the Vancouver courthouse on Monday, Nov. 23. The lawsuit revolves around the Wilderness Way Adventure Resort, located near Ashcroft, B.C. According to its website, the resort offers luxury accommodation, fishing, helicopter tours, horseback riding, mountain biking and ziplining, among other things. It also features a helicopter landing pad for those who would prefer to avoid driving from the nearest airport, in Kamloops.
