Mr. Paul Harvalias reports
WESTJET HEADS TO THE SUNNY SOUTH OKANAGAN
WestJet Airlines Ltd. will launch new daily non-stop
service between Calgary and Penticton, B.C., on Sunday,
Oct. 26, 2014.
"We're excited to be bringing our low fares and remarkable guest
experience to the South Okanagan," said Paul Harvalias, WestJet
vice-president, revenue management. "With fares starting as low as $99
including taxes, fees and charges, we continue to liberate Canadians in
smaller communities from the high cost of air travel.
"Whether it's skiing and snowboarding through the champagne powder at
Apex Mountain Resort in the winter or wakeboarding on Okanagan Lake in
the summer, it truly is a community with year-round appeal, and we're
pleased to be bringing visitors to the region to enjoy all it has to
offer," added Mr. Harvalias. And of course, having dozens of wineries
within a short drive makes the 'apres' activities even more relaxing."

Penticton is WestJet's 41st non-stop destination from Calgary International Airport (YYC). The airline's
average of 97 daily departures makes YYC its busiest Canadian airport.
"YYC is pleased to welcome WestJet Encore's newest service to this
attractive leisure destination in the festival centre of the Okanagan,"
said Stephan Poirier, senior vice-president and chief commercial
officer. "With the best connections in Western Canada, YYC is truly the
place where business and leisure travellers can connect from here to
everywhere. The addition of Penticton to our growing route network
means more passengers in Southern British Columbia will have the
opportunity to experience the world."
South Okanagan travellers will be able to connect via Calgary to and
from Los Angeles and Las Vegas, WestJet's most-popular U.S.
destination, as well as Canadian destinations such as Victoria,
Vancouver, Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg,
Hamilton, Toronto, Ottawa and Halifax.
Launched in June, 2013, WestJet Encore now services 24 cities in seven
provinces with 114 daily departures. In 2015, the regional airline will
launch service to Quebec City, Quebec, and Fredericton, N.B.
