WEST AFRICAN RESOURCES REPAYS US$5 MILLION LOAN FACILITY

West African Resources Ltd. has repaid the $5-million (U.S.) loan facility to the metals and energy capital division of Macquarie Bank Ltd. ahead of its maturity date on Sept. 30, 2016.

The repayment was made following the completion of the $21-million (Australian) capital raising announced on Aug. 10, 2016.

The company's cash balance is currently $23-million (Australian).

The $5-million (U.S.) facility, which the company entered into in December, 2014, provided financing to complete the feasibility study for the Mankarga 5 heap-leach gold project in Burkina Faso.
